“The Mechanical Comedian”
– a provocative art piece from the L.R.T.T.S Collection, born from a unique collaboration between human creativity and “artificial intelligence”. https://www.themechanicalcomedian.art
The Mechanical Comedian is a criticism piece to the modern shift in using Ai to replace the natural element in the creation process of art. It discusses the ideas of originality, copyism and inspiration related to art and spesfically Ai art.
It’s inspired by the Maurizio Cattelan – The Comedian. It plays off the over simplicity for high art and humor. Yet instead of edning up completely comical it displays rather grim dark realities of our rapidly changing wolrd and current markets for artist. The hollowness of machine generated art that reflects something else than the prompter migh initially wanted.
Creation
The piece was created by prompting an image generator with an original piece that is used as a 100% full instruction set and is supposed to result in 1:1 replica. The piece challenges the idea of Ai being the artist behind Ai generated images yet clearly displayes the end result being something that is affected by the whole art world instead of just the original creator. It is intended to challenge how art community engages and understands art.
Included in Purchase:
